Beard-tamer products have been around in one form or another since ancient times, but they’ve really evolved in just the last two decades. Today, you’ll find tested formulas that can help bring uniformity to your beard and discipline those hairs that have gone astray. But if you’ve never tried out a beard tamer before (or any beard product for that matter), you may have some reservations — and some questions.
For example, why do beards get “wild” in the first place? What causes frizzy beards and beard scruff? Are beard hairs naturally curly? How does beard tamer work? How are you supposed to use it? Finally, where can you find a high-quality hair and beard tamer at an affordable price?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Much like a snowflake, every beard is completely unique. Beard hairs can grow at different speeds, have different thicknesses, and even feel different from one another. Some men have naturally curly beard hairs, while some men have naturally straight beard hairs. And when you consider that the average beard has about 30,000 hairs, this means that it’s not too difficult for things to get out of control fast!
However, the reality is that frizziness and beard scruff are not just the result of letting beard hairs grow their own way. On the contrary, unruly beards often occur when you trim your beard too short or too often. This sounds counterintuitive, but micro-managing your beard usually results in beards that look less full. When your beard is less full, wild hairs and scruffy areas become more apparent. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t trim your beard regularly; just make sure that you’re not overdoing it!
Other issues that can make beards look unkempt are a need for thorough cleaning and routine skin and hair care. A lot of men assume that they can just run some water through their beard every once in a while and call it a day. Not only does this allow bacteria to build up, increasing the risk of ingrown hairs, but it also makes your beard look and feel messy. If you take a shower every day, use the opportunity to clean and rinse your beard with a conditioning beard wash (up to two times per day). This won’t completely fix the problem, but it will ensure that your beard is clean and soft. Then, you can use a quality beard tamer to make sure your beard looks and feels great.
Beard tamers from different providers will likely have unique ingredients. That said, most high-quality beard tamers work in the same way. They contain ingredients that can soften the skin underneath and around your beard, style your beard to a specific shape or look, and cleanse the beard area of dirt, debris, and dandruff. Most beard tamers can also help detangle the hairs so that you can use a beard comb without accidentally ripping hairs from the root.
Here are some of the best possible ingredients that you’ll find in beard tamers, along with their specific functions and benefits:
Using a beard-taming oil is really easy, but to get the most benefits, you’ll want to make sure that it’s part of a more comprehensive beard care regimen. Here are the steps you should follow:
While everyone’s beard is different, there’s no set frequency for how and when you should use beard tamer. If you have a beard tamer with natural ingredients, you can generally feel safe using it as often as you like. Whenever your beard looks frizzy, you can apply beard tamer to give it a more appealing shape. You may want to use it daily (or multiple times per day), especially if you have frequent issues with untamed beard hairs, dry skin underneath your beard, or brittle or curly hairs.
It’s also important to note that you can apply a beard tamer with wet hair. However, this will give your beard (or your hair) a “wet” look. This is because the beard tamer helps trap that moisture in. If this is the look you prefer, then it shouldn’t be a problem. However, if you want to maintain a more natural look, it’s best to use the beard tamer with a dry beard or dry hair.
Are you looking for an effective beard tamer that contains natural ingredients? Do you want to tame your unruly beard with ease? Are you sick of beard tamers that feel thick and waxy? Finally, are you in need of a quality beard tamer that is suited for all skin types? If so, Anthony’s Hair + Beard Tamer is the answer.

Since it is water-based, our Hair + Beard Tamer doesn’t feel gooey, heavy, or waxy; it goes on naturally and makes it easy to sculpt your beard into the perfect shape!

]]>But if you’ve never tried out beard oil before, you probably have a lot of questions. For instance, what does beard oil do? Is it good for the skin, or does it just benefit beard hair? Can beard oil be applied to the hair on top of your head? Does beard oil support hair growth? How is it supposed to be used? Lastly, where can you find high-quality conditioning beard oil at an affordable price?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Part of the reason that 75% of 20-somethings don’t use beard oil is because they don’t really know what it does. This has been a major shortcoming in the beard care industry, as providers have not adequately explained exactly how beard oil can be beneficial. In the sections below, we’ll take a closer look at some of the main functions of beard oil:
Dry skin is extremely common under beards. Why? Because it’s not always easy or feasible to get moisturizing creams to the skin underneath your beard. You don’t want dried facial cream stuck in your beard hairs, so you might just think you have to accept dry, patchy skin around your beard. Fortunately, this is not the case. Beard oil is specifically designed to be applied to the beard and hydrate the skin underneath.
One of the most popular reasons men choose beard oil is the softening effect. By default, most beards are dry, scratchy, and not all that pleasant to the touch. When beard oil is applied, it softens the hair, making it smooth and even velvety. Not only does this make it more comfortable to have a beard, but it’s also more pleasant for romantic partners!
Have you ever struggled with extremely dry, itchy skin under your beard? If so, we can sympathize! This is a common issue that often leads to scratching, which in turn leads to excess dandruff and dead skin cells. There’s nothing worse than having little white flakes and pieces of dead skin stuck in your beard. This is often a direct result of overly dry skin. Applying beard oil moisturizes the skin, reducing the occurrence or severity of dry, itchy skin. When the skin is well-hydrated, it’s far less likely to be itchy, which also reduces scratching and the prevalence of dandruff (sometimes known as “beardruff”).
A smooth, silky beard is always a sight to behold. Unfortunately, most men don’t realize that their beards are relatively dull-looking by default. Even if you have great genes, your beard will almost certainly need a bit of a boost to look shiny and reflective in the light (just like the hair on your head). Beard oil gives your beard a shinier look, without making it look greasy. Since most beard oils use natural ingredients that are also used in traditional hair products, you can also use many beard oil products for your “regular” hair. Just keep in mind that beard oils are specifically formulated for facial hair, and since head hair often has a different texture, you may not get the same shininess by applying beard oil to the hair on the top of your head.
As a general rule, beard hair is coarser and stronger than the hair on most other parts of your body. This makes it strong against the elements, whether it be wind, rain, snow, or even heat. However, it’s not invincible. Adding beard oil can give your beard an extra layer of protection to prevent the hairs from changing colors due to excessive sun exposure or becoming dry and brittle in the cold.
Everybody likes to smell good, right? Most beard oils contain natural fragrances similar to perfumes or after shave products. However, beard oils have the advantage of lasting longer than traditional perfumes, because they provide a thin coating on your beard that can make you smell great for up to 24 hours. This makes beard oil a great addition to your daily beard care routine, especially if you like to smell good on the go!
Yes and no. While beard oil does not directly boost hair growth, it does help create an environment that can enhance hair growth and prevent issues that could be deterring or slowing your hair growth. For instance, when the skin where your beard grows is dry and cracked, this can slow hair growth, or cause beard hairs to feel brittle and weak. The moisturizing benefits of beard oil can make the skin healthier, helping to strengthen hairs at the roots and, over the long term, allow for more consistent hair growth.
Much like a quality beard tamer, beard oil is pretty easy to put on. That said, the steps you’ll need to follow will vary based on when you’re applying it. If you’re applying it before a shave, follow these steps:
And if you’re just using your beard oil for standard beard maintenance, follow these steps:
You can use beard oil as often as you like, though most men find it beneficial to apply it once in the morning and once again in the late afternoon or early evening. It’s also a good idea to apply it every time you shave or trim your beard.
Do you struggle with dry, itchy skin around your facial hair? Do you want beard oil that works before you shave and when you just want to nourish your beard? Finally, are you looking for a high-quality beard oil that will help your beard look and smell great throughout the day? If so, Anthony’s Pre-Shave + Conditioning Beard Oil is the solution for you!
Our signature formula uses all-natural ingredients like calendula and olive oils to provide your skin with the nourishment and moisture it needs. At the same time, the rosemary and basil oils make your beard shiny and soft to the touch. Anthony’s conditioning beard oil also contains natural fragrances to ensure that your beard doesn’t just look and feel great, but smells great, too!

]]>Fortunately, you don’t have to suffer every time you see stubble in the mirror. There are ways to treat and prevent razor burn, razor bumps, and most other kinds of irritation caused by shaving. The key is to make sure you’re practicing good pre-shave and post-shave routines, and properly caring for your skin and facial hair while you shave.
But if you’re relatively new to the shaving game or you’re just experiencing razor burn or bumps for the first time, you probably have a few questions, like: Why does razor burn happen in the first place? What’s the difference between razor burn and razor bumps? How long do these issues last? How can they be prevented? What can you do to treat a sudden flair-up of razor burn or razor bumps? Finally, what are the best products on the market to ensure that you’re getting a clean shave without all the pain and discomfort?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Razor burn refers to the red, irritated skin you might get immediately after shaving, while razor bumps are (as the name implies) the little bumps that appear once the new hair follicles start to grow back. Both issues can be caused by various things, but they are often closely related. Most people who experience razor burn also experience razor bumps, and vice versa. Many different issues and practices can lead to razor burn and/or razor bumps, including:
Between razor burn and razor bumps, the former typically clears up much faster than the latter. On average, you can expect razor burn to appear within a few minutes of shaving, and go away (without any intervention) after a few days. This assumes that you don’t continue shaving during this period, as increased exposure to a razor could cause the razor burn to last longer.
Alternatively, razor bumps may have a longer onset and take longer to go away. You might see the bumps appear within a few minutes of shaving, but it’s more likely that they’ll take a few hours or days to become visible. Once the razor bumps are there, they may stay “raised” for as long as 2 to 3 weeks!
Fortunately, you don’t have to put up with razor burn/bumps for days or weeks on end. There are several ways to prevent them from ever occurring in the first place. Even if it’s too late and you’ve already got red, bumpy patches on your face, there are still ways to help treat them and clear up your skin as soon as possible. We’ll go over some of the best options for preventing and treating razor burn and razor bumps in the sections below.
The best way to avoid razor burns and bumps is to use preventive measures, which often just require you to use good sense and quality products before you shave, while you shave, and right after you shave. Before a shave, you should make sure that your face is clean, exfoliated, and well moisturized. Anthony’s Facial Scrub can help exfoliate your face, while our Algae Facial Cleanser can keep your skin clean and well-hydrated before you start shaving.
Once you’re ready to shave, you’ll want to make sure that your razor isn’t dull. Then, apply a quality shaving cream, shave your face with care, and follow it up with a natural after shave balm. Following these steps and using good, natural products can greatly reduce the frequency and severity of razor burns and bumps.
Razor bumps and razor burn are much easier to prevent than they are to treat. However, treating either condition is not a lost cause. In fact, if you act fast, you can make the redness, irritation, discomfort, and bumps go away much more quickly. The best course of action is to keep your skin as hydrated as possible. This will prevent irritated skin from getting dry and cracking, and even help speed up the healing process. If you’re in need of an excellent moisturizer for men, check out Anthony’s All Purpose Facial Moisturizer.
Razor bumps and ingrown hairs go hand in hand. The bumps often precede ingrown hairs, and these bumps may get larger and become inflamed if an ingrown hair is left untreated. While a moisturizer is great for treating razor burn, it’s not quite as effective at treating razor bumps. For this reason, we recommend our signature Ingrown Hair Treatment. Not only can it cleanse the skin and reduce razor bumps, but it can also help free painful and unsightly ingrown hairs. In short, it’s a win-win!

]]>Fortunately, we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about TSA-approved sizes for skincare products and similar liquids. If you’ve got a flight coming up soon, you probably have a ton of questions about what kind of skincare products you can bring with you. For instance, what are the specific rules about liquid bottle sizes on planes? What qualifies as a liquid according to the TSA? How many bottles can you take in one carry-on bag? Lastly, where can you find quality travel size skincare products?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
To try to keep things as simple as possible, the TSA has instituted the 3-1-1 liquids rule. However, you really need to dig into the details of this rule to understand exactly how much you can put in your carry-on. According to the TSA’s official statements on the matter, you can’t bring any bottles that contain more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) of liquid. To put this in perspective, it would take the liquid from about five 3.4-ounce bottles to fill a standard water bottle. This means you can’t bring any jumbo-size skincare products with you!
Since many passengers want to bring more than one product with them on a flight, the TSA does allow you to bring multiple bottles, as long as each bottle is 3.4 ounces or smaller. This is where the 3-1-1 rule comes into play. The “3” refers to the 3.4-ounce maximum per bottle. The first “1” refers to the size of the bag you can put the bottles in; the bottles of liquid must be able to fit in a 1-quart bag. Finally, the last “1” refers to the number of 1-quart liquid bags you can bring with you on the plane. That is to say, you can only have 1 bag of liquids in your carry-on bag.
If this all sounds a bit confusing, here’s a simple breakdown to make it a bit easier. Before you pack your bags, make sure that all of your liquids meet the following requirements:
Many people start going through security, only to discover that one of their skincare products technically qualifies as a “liquid” under the TSA’s rules. In general, any type of liquid, gel, cream, aerosol, or paste is considered a liquid. This means you’ll need to follow the 3-1-1 rule for a wide range of products, including but not limited to:
Once again, this isn’t a comprehensive list of items that qualify as liquids under TSA rules, but it does cover some of the most common ones. Some passengers are surprised to find out that more “solid” products like chapstick, deodorant, or beard wax qualify as liquids. But with is information, you can pack with more confidence and not run the risk of having your items thrown in the garbage when you go through security.
The TSA doesn’t specifically state how many bottles you can take with you on the plane. Unfortunately, this leaves passengers feeling a bit uneasy, especially if they have a lot of different skin or hair care products that they’d like to have within reach during a long flight. Fortunately, you can do some relatively simple math to figure out the maximum number of bottles you can bring with you.
Each bottle cannot hold more than 3.4 ounces of liquid, and all liquid bottles must be able to fit into a single 1-quart bag. There are 32 fluid ounces in a quart, which means that (ignoring the bottles themselves), you could fit somewhere between 9 and 10 bottles in a single bag (32 divided by 3.4 equals 9.41, to be precise). However, the bag has to be able to close, and since the bottles themselves will take up space, you’ll need to subtract 1 or 2 bottles from the total. This means that you could feasibly carry between 7 and 9 bottles that can fit 3.4 ounces of liquid.
Keep in mind that 3.4 ounces is the maximum size, so if you opt for smaller bottles, you could bring even more with you. For example, if you use 2-ounce bottles, you might be able to bring as many as 16 individual bottles (32 divided by 2 is 16). Just remember that all of these bottles have to fit in a closed, 1-quart bag!
If you’ve developed a tried-and-true skincare regimen, then you won’t want to give that up just because you’re traveling. This is especially true for long flights. If you struggle with acne breakouts or dry skin, having quality skincare products nearby is really important. Plus, you’ll want to know that you have your favorite products available at your destination, even if your checked bags get lost somewhere along the way!
Fortunately, if you use Anthony’s Basics Travel Size Set, you can rest easy knowing that you have quality products with you that also adhere to the TSA’s 3-1-1 rules. Our Basics Travel Size Set comes with three essential skincare products for men:

]]>The skin on the lips is quite different from the skin on the rest of the body. However, it is just as susceptible to sun damage as the skin everywhere else. For this reason, SPF lip balm is a product that anyone who spends time in the sun should add to their skincare regimen.
But if you’ve never tried out SPF lip balm before, you probably have a lot of questions. For example, what is SPF lip balm? Is SPF lip balm necessary? Will sunproof lip balms help treat or prevent cold sores? How much SPF do you need for your lips? Should you use SPF lip balm at night? Finally, where can you find a high-quality SPF lip balm for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
To understand SPF lip balm, you first have to understand what “SPF” means. SPF stands for “Sun Protection Factor” and it is used to grade the strength and efficacy of products designed to protect the skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. When you spend time out in the sun without SPF lip balm (or any form of lip protection), you’ll likely end up with dry, chapped lips. If the exposure is frequent and severe enough, it could even increase the risk of developing certain types of skin cancers. SPF lip balm is a specially formulated lip care product that can protect the skin of the lips from sun damage. At the same time, SPF lip balm moisturizes the lips and offers a protective barrier that can even help nourish the lips.
Here are just a few of the primary benefits of SPF lip balm:
Knowing how much SPF you need can be confusing. Some people say SPF 15 is fine, while others swear by SPF 50 or higher. The CDC and most reputable sources recommend a minimum of SPF 15 for your lips and skin. However, this is just the minimum. For full protection, your lips need SPF 25, and the rest of your face and body need SPF 30. If you’re going to be in extreme conditions with extended sun exposure or you have particularly sensitive skin, you may consider a higher SPF grade for your face and body. However, in most scenarios, you can rest easy with SPF 25 lip balm and SPF 30 face and body lotions.
Yes! So many people think that their lips are unaffected by the sun, but this is absolutely not the case. You do need SPF lip balm if you spend any amount of time in the sun. Even if you don’t experience chapped or sunburned lips, you could be exposing yourself to unnecessary risk by leaving your lips unprotected. Simply adding a bit of SPF lip balm whenever you plan to spend time in the sun could greatly reduce your risk of sun damage or long-term health issues.
Does this mean you have to apply SPF lip balm every time you walk out the door? Not necessarily. It depends on your skin type and even where you live. If you have sensitive skin or you live in an area with a lot of direct sun exposure, high temperatures, and dry air, you should probably apply SPF lip balm if you plan on spending any amount of time outside. Alternatively, if you don’t have skin that’s overly sensitive (prone to sunburn) or you live in an area with limited direct sunlight, you may prefer to only apply SPF lip balm on days when you anticipate more sun exposure.
Yes, you can use SPF lip balm at night. It will provide the same benefits as using traditional lip balm. However, it’s not entirely necessary, since your lips won’t be exposed to UV rays after the sun goes down. So, you may prefer to save your SPF lip balm for the daytime and use a traditional lip balm before you go to bed at night.
Do you worry about the health of your lips? Are you the type of person who spends a lot of time out in the sun? Would you like to get a quality lip balm that can protect your lips from damaging UV rays? If so, one of Anthony’s Advanced Formula Lip Balms is the answer.

With either product, you can moisturize your lips, prevent cold sores, and enjoy year-round protection from the sun. Take it from us: your lips will thank you!

]]>But if you’ve never tried oil free face lotion, you probably have a few questions. For instance, what is face lotion? Does oil free facial lotion really work? What are the benefits of oil free face lotion? How should you apply it? Finally, where can you find the best oil free face lotion for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Face lotion goes by many different names, and there can even be different types to serve slightly different purposes. For example, a day cream is a form of face lotion that is specifically meant to be used during the day, typically in the morning. Regardless of the specific type of face lotion, the purpose is generally to provide hydration and nourishment to the skin of the face. This can help reduce dry, flaky skin, improve the overall texture of the skin, and generally produce brighter, healthier-looking skin.
But again, different types of face lotion can address different concerns. Here are a few of the most common functions of face lotion:
As the name implies, oil free facial lotion is a specific formulation that does include added oils. This is often best for people with naturally oily skin and/or acne. The lack of extra oils helps hydrate the skin without giving you that shiny or oily look afterward. Instead, oil free facial lotion can be easily absorbed into the skin without adding oils to the surface that could seep into your pores and cause breakouts. Even if you apply too much of an oil free facial lotion, you’re less likely to see a lot of unabsorbed residue than you would with a traditional face cream.
Some of the most common features of oil free facial lotions include:
Technically, you can use body lotion on your face, but it’s not a good idea. Facial lotions are designed for the thinner layer of the face. Body lotions tend to have more oils and stronger ingredients to penetrate the thicker layers of skin on the rest of the body. Therefore, using a body lotion on your face could cause excessive oiliness. It won’t hurt your face if you accidentally apply the wrong long lotion a few times, but using a body lotion on your face regularly could cause long-term changes to your skin and pores.
There are many benefits to using oil free face lotion, especially if you struggle with shiny skin or acne. Here are just a few of the most important benefits to remember:
Using facial lotion, including oil free products, is extremely easy. Just follow these simple steps:
You can generally apply facial lotions in the morning and at night, but the frequency will depend on your skin type. You may find that applying a quality oil free skin lotion once per day is sufficient, or you may want to re-moisturize throughout the day.
Do you want an oil free face lotion designed for men? Are you looking for a lotion that won’t clog your pores or leave you looking greasy? Finally, do you want the best oil free face lotion on the market? If so, Anthony’s Oil Free Facial Lotion is the answer. Our special formulation can calm oily skin and provide enhanced texture improvement thanks to natural ingredients like aloe vera and chamomile. If you want to have a younger, healthier appearance without the extra “shine” that you get with other face lotions, you can’t go wrong with Anthony’s Oil Free Facial Lotion!

]]>But if you’ve never used glycolic acid or exfoliating face wipes before, you probably have a few questions. What is glycolic acid and how does it work? What do glycolic wipes do? What are the benefits for the skin beyond acne reduction? Finally, where can you get high-quality glycolic acid face wipes for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Glycolic acid is a type of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is used to exfoliate skin. Its natural properties are used to safely clean away dead skin cells and excess oil (sebum), while also reducing the prevalence of clogged pores. Glycolic acid wipes (or AHA wipes) are simply exfoliating wipes for the face. The wipes are infused with glycolic acid (and often other ingredients) to easily exfoliate and cleanse the skin, without the need for additional exfoliation products.
While you can always cleanse and exfoliate your face with a regular face wipe, glycolic acid wipes kick things up a notch. In fact, there are tons of amazing benefits of using glycolic acid wipes on a regular basis. Here is just a glimpse of what these wipes can do:
Glycolic acid wipes often have two sides that serve two different purposes. This means that you’ll need to follow a specific process to get the most out of your AHA wipes. But don’t stress — the process is easy to learn. All you have to do is follow these steps:
You can use most glycolic acid wipes in the morning, evening, or both. It all depends on your skin type and needs. Most men only need to exfoliate with glycolic acid once per day, but you may find that it works best for you to use them more frequently (as often as twice a day) or even less frequently (just a few times a week). Some glycolic acid formulations are too strong to use every day, so it’s important to check the packaging before you get started.
It’s also important to note that, like nearly all skincare wipes, glycolic acid wipes can dry out. If you leave the package unsealed when you’re finished, the wipes could dry up and become completely useless. So, always remember to tightly reseal the package when you’re done.
Do you want a simple and easy way to treat acne at home? Are you dealing with overly dry or oily skin? Have you struggled to find an exfoliation product that actually works for your skin type? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then Anthony’s Glycolic Exfoliating and Resurfacing Wipes are the answer.
Our glycolic exfoliating face wipes feature both textured and smooth sides to ensure that you can exfoliate and clean away dead skin cells and accumulated oil with ease. With a simple 30-second application to your face and neck, you can enjoy invigorated and refreshed skin in the morning or the evening. It’s the perfect solution for men of virtually all skin types. So, whether your skin tends to be very dry, very oily, or somewhere in between, you can benefit from Anthony’s Glycolic Exfoliating and Resurfacing Wipes!

]]>In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
As the name implies, after shave balm is a type of soothing ointment that you apply to your face after you finish shaving. The ingredients can vary based on the brand and manufacturing processes, but after shave balm frequently includes natural ingredients like rosemary and eucalyptus. These ingredients can help enhance the underlying function of the after shave balm and make for a better shaving experience.
In some ways, after shave balm has been around for much longer than you might think — though not necessarily in the same nice packaging you can find today. Shaving practices date all the way back to the ancient world, and many of the shaving practices we use today, including the application of after shave balm, are thousands of years old. For example, ancient Egyptian men commonly applied oils after shaving their faces, while ancient Romans used medicinal concoctions that worked as natural antiseptics to prevent infected cuts or scrapes.
In 1709, an Italian inventor used some of these ancient recipes and infused nice-smelling fragrances that would appeal to the “modern” gentleman. This turned out to be the unofficial birth of aftershave as we know it today. Since then, “aftershave” has been adapted to include a wide range of products, including after shave balm.
While there are many different types of aftershave, after shave balms tend to focus on soothing and relaxing the skin after shaving. However, quality after shave balms can do a lot more than that. For example, many after shave balms are designed to:
If you’re shopping for some type of aftershave, you’ve probably come across after shave balm and after shave lotion. Generally speaking, they both do many of the same things, but there are some important differences to consider:
Many of the differences between after shave balm and after shave lotion come down to the ingredients. If you want something that provides greater moisturization, you’re likely better off with an after shave balm. On the other hand, if you want something that the skin will absorb a bit faster, a lotion may be the superior option.
Using after shave balm is extremely easy. Just have it nearby when you’re ready to shave and then follow these simple steps:
While it’s not a requirement, it’s usually a good idea to follow after shave balm with a good facial moisturizer. This step will depend on your skin type and personal preferences. For example, if you have very dry skin, you may want to apply the balm, wait a few minutes for your skin to absorb it properly, and then apply the face cream of your choice. Alternatively, if you have oily skin or large pores, you may not want to add extra moisturizer on top of your after shave balm, as it could end up clogging your pores and trapping excess oil.
No, you shouldn’t wash off after shave balm. It is meant to be absorbed into the skin so that you can enjoy all of its soothing, moisturizing, and antiseptic benefits. However, there may be some instances where washing off after shave could be applicable. For instance, if you apply too much product, you may want to wash off excess balm so that it can be absorbed properly without leaving behind any residue.
Are you looking for the absolute best men’s after shave balm on the market? Do you want a lightweight after shave balm that provides enhanced soothing effects and moisturization? Finally, do you need an after shave balm that is specifically designed for men? If so, Anthony’s After Shave Balm is the answer.
With Anthony’s After Shave Balm, you get a soothing and cooling effect thanks to a variety of natural ingredients, including botanical oils, rosemary, corn mint, and eucalyptus. ]]>There’s a lot of confusion surrounding wake up gels and what they actually do. While topical wake up gels have been around in one form or another for a while, many people are unfamiliar with their uses and benefits. As you’re reading this right now, you might have a lot of questions too. For example, what differentiates a wake up gel from any other facial treatment? What kind of ingredients can you find in a wake up gel? Do topical applications of caffeine and menthol provide you with energy? Finally, how can a quality wake up gel help treat a tired or aged face?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s look at how wake up gels really work:
How wake up gels work depends a lot on their formulations. A wake up gel from one provider may not offer the same results as a wake up gel from another. That said, wake up gels are generally designed to liven up tired or aged-looking skin. If you’ve ever gotten a bad night’s sleep before, you’re probably familiar with the unflattering look of a tired face. Your skin looks saggy, perhaps with deep or more prominent fine lines. You might struggle with dry skin that has a dull appearance. Puffiness and dark circles around the eyes are also extremely common.
A wake up gel works on two different fronts. Its first and primary function is to revitalize the skin of your face and make sure that you look energized. However, when you add ingredients like caffeine and menthol, you can also get a very small boost of energy when you first wake up. Seeing your energized face and actually getting a hint of energizing components at the same time can leave you feeling much better prepared to kick-start your day.
However, it’s important to note that using wake up gel is not like drinking an energy drink or a cup of coffee. It won’t make your heart race or make you feel jittery. Instead, it will give you a nice and subtle spark of energy when you first get up in the morning. Besides, the energy boost is not the main attraction. The real results can be seen in your face, especially if you commit to using wake up gel on a regular basis.
Wake up gel uses various ingredients to hydrate your skin, minimize fine lines, reduce puffiness and undereye circles, and generally brighten your appearance first thing in the morning. Once again, the mechanisms at work can depend on the ingredients involved. However, quality wake up gels use natural ingredients to invigorate your skin without causing unwanted damage or irritation.
Your skin is often at its worst when you first wake up. Perhaps you didn’t drink enough water the night before or you slept with the heater running all night. Either way, there’s a good chance that on any given morning, you’ll wake up to a tired and haggard face staring back at you in the mirror. Not only does this mean you won’t be looking your best, but it could also cause you to feel mentally exhausted right as you're trying to get your day started. Fortunately, you can hydrate your skin and replenish your energy at the same time with a naturally formulated wake up gel.
Here are a few ingredients to look out for when searching for a good wake up gel:
Once you’ve found a wake up face gel that works for you, it’s really easy to apply. Just remember: wake up gels are most effective when used regularly! With that in mind, here are the steps you need to follow to use wake up face gel:
It’s important to note that most wake up face gels work with the majority of skin types. However, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to proceed with caution. Certain ingredients could cause irritation if your skin is particularly sensitive, so if you want to use a wake up face gel, make sure to start slowly and even consider consulting your physician or dermatologist before changing your skincare routine.
Are you in need of a natural wake up call for your face? Do you want to ensure that your skin is hydrated and energized in the morning? Could a little extra caffeine and menthol help jumpstart your mornings? Finally, are you looking for a quality wake up gel for men? If so, Anthony has the solution for you with our Wake Up Call gel!
Anthony’s Wake Up Call utilizes caffeine, menthol, cactus flower extract, green tea, and peppermint to ensure that your face looks and feels hydrated and energized. You won’t have to worry about dark undereye circles, puffy eyes, or dry skin any longer. Plus, our Wake Up Call is even formulated to be used throughout the day — whenever you need a little extra hydration and energy!

]]>But if you’ve never used a glycolic acid serum before, you probably have a lot of questions. For instance, does glycolic acid burn? What does it do to your skin? What are the benefits of using a glycolic acid serum? Finally, where can you find a high-quality glycolic acid serum to add to your skincare routine?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s look at what glycolic acid serum is and how it works:
Glycolic acid serum is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) based skincare product primarily used for exfoliation. Glycolic acid works by removing the top layer of skin, and it is often stronger than most other texture-based exfoliants on the market. It works by speeding up cell turnover over a very short period of time. This means that the bonds connecting your newer, fresher skin cells to your older, dead skin cells can be broken, allowing the dead skin cells to be wiped away much more easily.
Removing dead skin cells is one of the easiest ways to have brighter, younger skin. Glycolic acid is ideal for men who want to fight signs of aging early and without invasive treatment. In the form of a serum, it can deliver higher concentrations of its active ingredient to the skin, allowing you to get all the benefits of glycolic acid in a smaller, more convenient package. And don’t worry, even though it has “acid” in the name, glycolic acid will not burn or cause any pain when applied to the skin.
While glycolic acid is mostly thought of as an exfoliant, it does so much more than remove dead skin cells. In fact, a quality glycolic acid serum is one of the best treatments you can add to your skincare regimen. Here are just a few of the benefits you can expect when using a glycolic acid serum:
Unlike most exfoliators, glycolic acid serum does not need to be washed off. Instead, you can simply apply it and go about your day. This makes it a very convenient option for men who don’t want to add a lot of extra time and effort to their skincare routine. In any case, if this is your first time using a glycolic acid serum, you just need to follow these steps:
It’s important to note that you can generally get the best results from a glycolic acid serum if you apply it once in the morning and once at night. This way, you’re removing dead skin cells and revealing a younger face as soon as you wake up and right before you go to bed.
Are you looking for a glycolic acid serum that can help you look younger in as little as 2 weeks? Do you want an effective skin treatment that can exfoliate and reduce signs of aging at the same time? Finally, are you looking for the absolute best glycolic acid serum formulation on the market? If so, Anthony has the solution with our High Performance Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Peptide Serum.
Anthony’s High Performance Anti-Wrinkle Glycolic Peptide Serum doesn’t just offer younger-looking skin and smaller pores. It also rejuvenates your skin and creates a brighter complexion thanks to a combination of glycolic acid, peptides, biotin, algae, and pullulan. These work to improve the elasticity of your skin, further enhance collagen production, and keep your skin hydrated and happy!

]]>If you’re one of the millions of men fighting acne on a regular basis, you probably have a lot of questions about what to do. First and foremost, is it possible to learn how to get rid of acne? Are there different kinds of acne? Is there a way to prevent acne before it starts? What are the best acne products for men? Finally, where can you get a quality acne treatment set at an affordable price?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s look at the underlying causes of acne in men:
There are a variety of factors that can lead to acne in men of all ages. Though acne is most common in men between the ages of 12 and 24, acne can strike at any time, with many men continuing to experience acne in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. Here are some of the most common causes of acne in men of all age groups:
Hormonal acne is most common among teenagers and young men, but it can also happen at any age. Hormone levels can change due to environmental factors, stress, and periods of growth, like puberty. In men, it is believed that increased levels of testosterone cause your glands to produce more sebum (oil) than the skin actually requires. Excess sebum results in oily skin, which in turn increases the chances of clogged pores and acne breakouts.
Older men tend to have fewer acne breakouts because they often have lower testosterone levels. Alternatively, adolescent boys and young adult men tend to have the highest levels of testosterone, which is why acne is more common during these times. However, testosterone is not the only hormone that can cause or worsen acne in men. Hormones that can also affect acne include androgen, estrogen, and progesterone.
Much like hormonal changes, there’s not much you can do about your family genetics. Research has shown that men whose fathers have experienced acne are more likely to experience acne themselves. The reasons are not entirely clear, and having a parent with acne does not guarantee that you’ll also struggle with the issue. That said, one study of twins showed that as much as 81% of participants had acne due to genetic factors.
The decisions you make every day (as well as past decisions) can also impact the likelihood of developing acne. For example, poor diet, insufficient exercise, and excessive stress have all been linked to acne breakouts. Even certain medications can increase sebum production, thereby worsening acne.
It’s also important to note that how you treat your skin plays a huge role in your experience with acne going forward. If you fail to properly cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize your skin, you could inadvertently make your acne worse.
Most men will stop experiencing regular acne breakouts once puberty ends. However, the exact timeline varies from one person to the next. You might “finish” puberty in your late teens, while someone else may not move past puberty until their mid or late 20s. But even the end of puberty does not guarantee that acne will stop. Approximately 20% of post-pubescent adult men still struggle with acne.
As previously mentioned, age can play a factor. You’re far less likely to see a 60-year-old man with acne than you are to see a 30-year-old man with acne. Once again, this is because men tend to have lower levels of testosterone with age, which often means reduced sebum production. But everyone’s hormone levels are different, and as noted in the previous section, things like stress, lifestyle, and genetics can also play a factor. So, while each passing year could bring the end of acne for you, it could be a condition that you have to contend with for decades.
While it may be depressing to think that you could be dealing with acne for a long time, it’s even worse to think about how to find good acne products for men. Some are far more effective than others, and it’s not always easy to distinguish the good from the bad. Plus, many acne products come with unpleasant side effects, like:
Fortunately, you don’t have to feel uncomfortable in your own skin or risk fighting terrible side effects any longer. While some people turn to medical solutions to try to change their body chemistry, the reality is that most cases of acne can be solved with effective cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturizing — if you use the right acne treatment products.
Are you sick of dealing with unsightly acne on a daily basis? Are you looking for a quality acne face wash for men? Do you want to find an effective men’s face moisturizer for acne-prone skin, too? Lastly, do you want to combine multiple products and develop an acne treatment routine that actually works? If so, Anthony has the solution for you with our Acne Control Set.
The Acne Control Set contains three unique and powerful products: a glycolic facial cleanser, purifying astringent pads, and an all-purpose facial moisturizer. All three products are specifically formulated for men. First, you apply the glycolic facial cleanser which cleanses your face and gently exfoliates the skin at the same time. This helps get rid of oil and dirt that could clog your pores and worsen acne. Then, the astringent pads help close enlarged pores and control excess shine. Finally, the all-purpose moisturizer ensures that your face doesn’t get dry, while also providing your skin with much-needed vitamins and antioxidants. Anthony’s Acne Control Set is truly the best way to fight acne at the source!

Is there a way to unclog pores without damaging your skin? What kind of material is best for a pore cleansing mask? Most importantly, where can you find a quality facial pore cleanser for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s examine what a pore cleanser is and how it works:
A pore cleanser is aptly named, as it works to clean out the pores of your skin. The vast majority of pore cleansers are specifically designed for the face, as this is the area with the most sebaceous glands. This means your face is producing more sebum (oil) than nearly any other part of the body. As a result, your pores are getting clogged or are at risk of getting clogged. A pore cleanser provides relief from this issue, targeting enlarged or congested pores on the face.
The formulation and even application of a pore cleanser can vary from one product to the next. However, all pore cleansers are designed to remove excess oil and dirt from the skin, as well as any other impurities that could potentially clog pores and cause blackheads, whiteheads, or acne.
To understand how pore cleansers work, you’ll need to know what kind of products are actually available. Once again, different types of cleansers can yield unique results, but here are some of the most common features and components of pore cleansers for men:
You’ve probably heard of clay mask products like Rare Earth, especially since clay masks have become a go-to cleansing solution for men and women who struggle with clogged pores. It may sound strange to put clay on your face, but many historians believe that people have been applying clay as a skincare treatment for more than 1,000 years! While people may not have known exactly why it worked back then, we do have a better understanding of how and why clay masks work so well today.
Most quality clay masks will have one or two types of clay: kaolin and/or bentonite. Kaolin is a clay mineral made up of kaolinite (sometimes “kaolin” and “kaolinite” are used interchangeably), as well as minerals like quartz and feldspar. In its natural form, kaolin is a relatively soft type of clay with a white or off-white appearance. Even though it has been used for centuries, it was recently discovered that kaolin can naturally brighten dull skin, while also possessing cleansing properties.
Bentonite is another type of clay that is highly absorbent and has been used as a natural remedy all around the world. It is unique insofar as it is most often created in very particular circumstances, namely when volcanic ash combines with seawater. Though bentonite is usually used as a topical cleanser and detoxifier, it has even been used as a dietary supplement to help settle upset stomachs. In any case, if you’re considering a bentonite clay mask, you’re making an excellent choice, as bentonite can remove toxins from the skin, help calm excess oil production, and even help treat rashes or irritated skin.
As previously mentioned, some clay masks include both kaolin and bentonite clay, allowing you to get the most out of both components. They work together to absorb oil from the deeper layers of the skin and remove dead skin cells. These two actions can unclog blackheads and whiteheads, while also preventing the occurrence of newly clogged pores.
You may think that pulling the dirt, oil, and toxins out of your pores would be a lot of work, but if you get the right cleansing clay, it’s surprisingly easy! All you have to do is follow these steps:
Most people should aim to use a cleansing clay mask 1 to 2 times per week, though your needs may vary. If you’re really struggling with clogged pores and oily skin, you may want to use a clay mask more often. On the other hand, if your skin is only moderately oily and you don’t have a lot of breakouts, you might be comfortable using your clay mask less frequently.
Do want a pore cleanser that is specifically designed for men? Are you in need of a deep pore cleansing mask that actually pulls the dirt and oil from your pores? Finally, do you want to enjoy the benefits of both kaolin and bentonite clay? If so, Anthony has the solution for you!
Anthony’s Deep Pore Cleansing Clay combines the power of kaolin and bentonite to provide the best and most effective pore cleanser for men. By using our deep pore cleanser on a weekly basis, you’ll see a noticeable difference in the way your skin looks and feels. It can help diminish blackheads and whiteheads, brighten dull-looking skin, exfoliate dead skin cells, and leave you with a cleaner, happier face. ]]>While the benefits of Jojoba oil are extensive, it’s also important to know how Jojoba oil can be used to create unique skin care products. More specifically, it is the basis of Jojoba beads, which are often used as natural exfoliants. However, the vast majority of men are probably unfamiliar with Jojoba beads, so it’s only natural if you have a few questions.
For example, do Jojoba beads have the same benefits as Jojoba oil? Are Jojoba beads natural? What can these beads do for your skin? How can they be applied? Finally, where can you find a high-quality exfoliating bar with Jojoba beads?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s look at what Jojoba beads really are and how they work:
To understand Jojoba beads, you first have to understand the composition of Jojoba oil. Unlike other natural oils, Jojoba is technically an ester that can be hardened into a wax. This hardening process is used to turn Jojoba oil into Jojoba beads. This results in wax-like balls that are extremely smooth. This gives them the ability to effectively exfoliate the skin without being overly harsh.
Jojoba beads are almost never used on their own, at least not when it comes to skin care. Instead, they are combined with creams or soap bars for more efficient exfoliation. However, if you want to ensure the quality of your skin care product, it’s vital to check that it contains real Jojoba beads so that you get all of the benefits.
Yes, one of the greatest benefits of Jojoba beads is that they are 100% natural. There are thousands of exfoliating products out there that use plastic microbeads. Not only are these terrible for the environment, but they can also cause tears in the skin. This is because the plastic does not always have rounded edges. On the contrary, these tiny beads can be quite jagged, which can do much more harm than good. And while microplastics are an unfortunate part of life now, it’s not advisable to rub plastic beads on your skin and add even more plastic residue to your body!
Alternatively, Jojoba beads are 100% biodegradable and don’t have a detrimental impact on the environment. They also come with many of the same skin-healing benefits as standard Jojoba oil. In short, both Jojoba oil and Jojoba beads are natural compounds that come directly from the seeds of the Jojoba plant.
As previously mentioned, Jojoba beads have many of the same benefits as Jojoba oil. However, the method for using each product is very different. Jojoba beads are specifically used for exfoliation, typically in conjunction with other products. In any case, here are all the ways your skin can benefit from Jojoba beads:
Jojoba beads are most often associated with exfoliation — and for good reason. The natural smoothness of hardened Jojoba oil makes it ideal for sweeping away dead skin. At the same time, Jojoba beads create a continuous rolling motion that will not damage the skin. For this reason, various face and body scrubs feature Jojoba beads as the primary exfoliating ingredient.
The Buff It Hydrating Bar from Anthony is among the best exfoliating bars for men that utilize Jojoba Beads. Specifically created for the varied skin of the male body, our Buff It Hydrating Bar offers the perfect way to deal with rough or patchy skin on the body. It’s the perfect solution if you struggle with back acne, dry and itchy skin, or even psoriasis. With Anthony’s Buff It Hydrating Bar, you can exfoliate and hydrate your entire body while you shower!
If you opt for Anthony’s Buff It Hydrating Bar with Jojoba Beads, the process to use it and get the most out of your purchase is simple. You just need to follow these simple steps:
Remember, if you’re currently in the market for a good Jojoba bead exfoliator for men, Anthony’s Buff It Hydrating Bar is one of the best ways to give yourself a full-body exfoliation!

What are the benefits? Is there a special process to follow when applying a facial mask? Finally, where can you find the best facial mask for men on the market?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s look at the practice of facial masking to see what it really looks like:
Facial masking is the practice of applying a specific type of light material or substance to your face that can have a variety of benefits for your skin. As the name implies, facial masks are designed for the face, but unlike traditional face creams, facial masks must be washed off to see the results. Facial masks also belong to a group of skin care products known as “occlusives,” which are substances or materials that cover the skin and enhance moisture retention.
In essence, a face mask is like a quick way to go to the spa in the comfort of your own home. For some men, using a facial mask is even better than using face cream, as it moisturizes while adding in a few extra benefits (though many men use both). The popularity of face masks has grown in recent years because they can even be customized to specific skin types (oily skin, dry skin, etc). Moreover, it can be a relaxing way to refresh your face while you watch TV, do chores around the house, or even take a bath!
It’s important to note that not all facial masks are physical “masks” in the traditional sense. While some products are single-use masks that you have to remove from a packet, others take the form of a cream that must be spread on the face and then washed off. The latter is usually preferable, as it’s not prone to fall off your face or dry out before you can enjoy its benefits.
Most people think of facial masks as a compliment to traditional face cream. And while this is true insofar as they both primarily hydrate the skin, facial masks also come with unique benefits of their own. Here is everything you can expect to get when facial masking:
If you plan to use a facial mask that comes in the form of a cream or paste that must be washed off, you have more freedom to apply the mask without feeling rushed. Here are the steps you’ll need to follow:
Unlike traditional moisturizers, you don’t need to apply a facial mask every day. However, everyone’s skin is a little different. In general, you should aim to apply a facial mask once or twice a week. If you have particularly dry skin, you might choose to apply a mask every day. Just make sure your mask doesn’t have strong exfoliating properties, as exfoliating with this frequency could begin to irritate the skin.
Are you looking for a quality facial mask for men? Do you want to hydrate your face and get all the added perks of a mask? Finally, do you want to take advantage of the natural benefits of honey? If so, Anthony’s Hydrate + Repair Honey Mask is the solution!

]]>Sometimes you think that you can just wash away the oil with a good shower, but if you’ve tried this, you know it doesn’t really work. Even worse, many men assume that excess sebum is a sign of too much moisture in the skin, so they forego moisturizers entirely. In fact, taking more showers than usual or stopping moisturization can actually worsen oily skin!
So, you may be ready to throw your hands up and accept that your skin will always be oily — but we urge you not to give up. There are ways to reduce oiliness and help your skin look better than ever before, especially if you know the right moisturizer to use. But if your oily skin has you frustrated, you probably have a lot of questions that need to be answered first. For instance, what causes oily skin? How can you know if your skin is “too” oily? What is the right men’s skin care routine for oily skin? How often should you use a face moisturizer to reduce oiliness? Finally, what is the best men’s face moisturizer for oily skin?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Why is my skin so oily? If you find yourself asking this question, we can definitely sympathize. While oily skin is directly linked to the overproduction of sebum, there are underlying reasons why your face and body may be producing more oil than usual. Here are a few of the most common reasons men struggle with oily skin:
Most men experience oily skin from time to time, but it’s not always easy to know if your skin is too oily or oily too often. Here are some signs to look out for if you think you might have oily skin:
These may not be the only signs of oily skin, but they are the most common for men. If you’re unsure about your skin’s oiliness or you think there may be an underlying issue causing excess oil, consider speaking with a dermatologist for more information.
This is the trickiest part to determine, as it can vary from one person to the next. Most men with oily skin should try to use a light face moisturizer every day (potentially once in the morning and once in the evening). However, you may get better results if you moisturize once every other day. It all depends on the composition of your skin.
In general, it’s a good idea to use a face moisturizer every time you cleanse your face. Whether you use a cleansing wipe or a facial soap, you should pat your face dry and then apply a small amount of face moisturizer. Most men will want to focus on an oily nose, forehead, and chin, but if you have oiliness in other areas of the face, be sure to apply the moisturizer to those parts as well.
Guys who need help with oily skin — the solution has arrived! It’s often not enough to get a generic moisturizer that claims to be good for oily faces. Instead, you need to get a formulation that specifically targets oily skin to absorb oil, reduce the size of pores, and leave you with a clean, matte finish. If this is what you’re looking for, then you need to check out Anthony’s Instant Fix Oil Control.
As the name implies, you can see results with our Instant Fix Oil Control formulation instantly. By simply applying a small amount to the areas of your face with excess oil, you can reduce the appearance of oil by stopping it at the source. This face moisturizer utilizes natural ingredients like orange peel, citronella, and silica to absorb oil and improve the overall appearance of your face in minutes. At the same time, the product contains Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, which works as an emollient to soften the skin and make it look refreshed with each use. Plus, this isn’t just a short-lived result. When you use Anthony’s Instant Fix Oil Control, you can expect an oil-free appearance all day long!

In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s examine exactly why men’s skin care is different in winter than at any other time of year:
While climate can vary substantially from one location to the next, most places experience colder temperatures, stronger winds, and reduced humidity in the wintertime. All of these factors lead to one thing: dry skin. Even if you have naturally oily skin, you’re still susceptible to dry, cracked skin in winter. As a result, most men need to change up their skin care routine when the temperature starts to drop.
Understanding exactly how the season and weather changes affect your skin is vital when preparing your winter skin care routine. So, here are just a few of the problems you may experience in winter:
Now, here are some of the changes you’ll likely need to make to counteract the issues above:
Facial skin care is often what people are most concerned about in wintertime, particularly since the skin on your face and lips is more sensitive. You’ll want to make sure that you’re still actively exfoliating and cleansing your face, but you’ll also want to put greater emphasis on moisturization and lip care. Here are a few great products to help with your winter face skin care routine:
Facial hair is easy to overlook when thinking about taking care of your skin. However, if the underlying skin is dry or sensitive as a result of the winter climate, the hair follicles will dry out, too. This could cause or worsen beard dandruff. Fortunately, quality beard oil can help hydrate your beard and keep it looking great throughout the winter months. If you want to avoid a “winter beard,” check out Anthony’s Pre-Shave + Conditioning Beard Oil.
It’s just as important to take care of the skin on your body in winter as it is to take care of the skin on your face and lips. Body skin care can also get more complicated, as different areas of the body often require more or less attention. For example, the hands are a common problem area in winter, as the dryness can be exacerbated by regular activity and handwashing. In any case, here are a few of the best products to use for your body skin care routine in winter:

]]>So, if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you have many questions about cologne, perfume, and other fragrance products for men. For instance, what is the difference between parfum and Eau de parfum? What about Eau de toilette? And how does cologne differ from these products? Finally, where can you find high-quality fragrances designed for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more. So let’s get started!
Perfumes and fragrances for both men and women date all the way back to ancient Egypt. With the passing years, perfume became associated with luxury and opulence, particularly in ancient Rome and Greece. While fragrances saw a general decline in use during the Middle Ages, they saw a major resurgence during the Renaissance.
In the 14th century, the first modern fragrance (later classified as a parfum, Eau de parfum, or Eau de toilette) came into existence in Hungary. At the time, there were virtually no distinctions between fragrances for men and women, and that would remain the norm for centuries. The 17th and 18th centuries saw the rise of cologne, as well as fragrances specifically designed for men, particularly those used in barber shops.
Finally, fragrance manufacturers of the 19th and 20th centuries began advertising specific formulas and products directly to men, and offering clearer distinctions between parfum, Eau de parfum, Eau de toilette, and cologne. Today, we often associate specific scents — like sandalwood, musk, cedarwood, black pepper, and pine — with men’s fragrances.
Parfum: 20% - 30% fragrance (70% - 80% water/alcohol/additives)
As previously mentioned, parfum is just the French word for perfume. Contrary to what many Americans might think, parfum is not just for women. All over the world, both men and women use parfum, though usually with distinct ingredients and aromas. Parfum is often considered the strongest of the standard fragrance types, as it typically contains between 20% and 30% fragrance and aromatic ingredients.
To better understand men’s parfum, it’s important to know what else goes into it. A variety of plants, fruits, woods, essential oils, and similar ingredients help create the “body” of a given fragrance. However, if you were to try a parfum with 100% fragrance, it would simply be too powerful. For this reason, 70% to 80% of parfum is made of water, alcohol, and bonding agents. These help keep parfum from being overpowering while also helping lift and disperse the fragrance.
Eau de Parfum: 15% - 20% fragrance (80% - 85% water/alcohol/additives)
Eau de parfum (literally “water of perfume”) is essentially a less intense version of parfum. It contains slightly lower levels of fragrance (15% to 20%) and slightly higher levels of water and alcohol (80% to 85%). This often means that the scents are more subtle and unlikely to become overpowering or unpleasant to you or those around you.
Traditional parfum can last for anywhere between 6 and 8 hours, with some lasting as long as 24 hours. Comparatively, Eau de parfum usually does not last as long. This may sound like a drawback, but the reality is that most men don’t want to have a scent that can last for up to 24 hours. Instead, you may want a good scent to last for a few hours at a time and, if needed, you can reapply it when the aroma begins to dissipate. This way, you don’t risk having an overly strong scent that feels like it will never go away.
As you begin using fragrances, you’ll quickly find that more is not better. Many men forego standard parfum because it is simply too powerful to the point of being irritating to the sinuses. Alternatively, Eau de parfum still offers a strong scent that is more understated, creating a nice balance between efficacy and refinement.
Eau de Toilette: 5% - 15% fragrance (85% - 95% water/alcohol/additives)
Though the name may sound a bit offputting to English speakers, Eau de Toilette (“water of the bath”) is among the most popular types of fragrances for men. It is an even lighter variation of Eau de parfum, containing between 5% to 15% fragrance, and 85% to 95% water and alcohol. This gives Eau de toilette a lightness that is highly desirable, particularly for men who want to smell great, but don’t want to feel like a walking cloud of strong smells.
Most men find that an Eau de parfum and Eau de toilette provide the right level of intensity for their needs and tastes, but it all comes down to personal preference. Since Eau de toilette is even lighter, its aroma often lasts for anywhere between 3 and 5 hours. Once again, subtlety is king when it comes to fragrances, so Eau de toilette is a great choice for men who just want to add a splash of pleasant scent for a more controlled amount of time.
Cologne: 2% - 4% fragrance (95% - 98% water/alcohol/additives)
For years, Americans used the term “cologne” to exclusively refer to fragrances for men. It was often thought that perfume was for women and cologne was for men. However, the truth is that cologne (sometimes known as “Eau de cologne”) is a more general term for one of the weakest of all fragrance types on the market. Most colognes contain somewhere between 2% and 4% fragrance, and 95% to 98% water and alcohol. As a result, cologne tends to be very mild and lasts for as little as 1 to 2 hours per application.
Though cologne can be applied at any time of day or night, it is similar in strength to aftershave. However, aftershave differs insofar as it is specifically designed to add a pleasant aroma right after shaving the face, while also reducing skin irritation and razor burn. Moreover, cologne always comes in the traditional liquid form, while aftershave could be a spray, gel, or cream. In any case, cologne is good for a quick spritz of pleasant scents, but its lack of intensity and staying power might make it more or less appealing to some.
If you want to find the best fragrance for men, you’ll need to consider your personal likes and dislikes when it comes to scents, as well as the right intensity for you. That said, Anthony offers three of the absolute best options on the market: Anthony 1 Eau de Parfum, Anthony Black Eau de Toilette, and Anthony Silver Eau de Toilette.
Anthony 1 combines the fresh scent of Calabrian lemon with spicy notes of peppercorn and cardamon. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, Anthony Black features a more subtle fragrance that has top notes like apple and ginger, middle notes of sage and juniper berries, as well as base notes of amber wood and cedar. Finally, Anthony Silver gives you another light Eau de toilette that delivers notes of bergamot, mandarin orange, sandalwood, and vanilla.
In short, you have multiple luxurious and masculine fragrances to choose from with Anthony, giving you everything you need to smell and feel amazing!

Why is retinol good for your skin? What are the best ways to use retinol? Finally, where can you find a quality and affordable retinol cream for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more. So let’s get started!
Retinol is a form of Vitamin A, which means that it can have a wide range of applications and health benefits. While you may think of Vitamin A as something you consume as part of a balanced diet (you can find it in leafy greens, tomatoes, and eggs, among other foods), it also plays a crucial role in skincare. While consuming retinol (aka Vitamin A) the traditional way can benefit your skin, it is best for your skin when applied via a topical cream, serum, or treatment.
When applied to the skin, retinol works by converting to retinoic acid via enzymatic reactions. This acid then acts as a molecular binder for specific receptors in the epidermis and dermis (the top two layers of the skin). From here, the retinoic acid stimulates and accelerates various processes that can improve the smoothness and elasticity of the skin.
There’s a reason so many skincare products contain retinol — it is simply one of the best vitamins you can use for your skin. Even though it is a great ingredient in products for men and women, it is particularly good for men’s skin, which is roughly 20% thicker. This thickness can make it more difficult for certain skincare products to penetrate the outer layer, which makes retinol that much more useful and necessary.
In any case, here are some of the top reasons why men should make retinol a regular part of their skincare routine:
While retinol can be used just about anywhere on the body, it is most commonly applied to the face, as that is where it can do the most good. Applying retinol face cream is extremely easy; all you have to do is follow these steps:
It’s important to note that you can use retinol face creams in the morning or at night. If you have particularly dry skin, you may choose to apply retinol creams twice per day (AM and PM). And while retinol is particularly good for dry skin, it can be beneficial for just about any skin type. Many people who don’t battle dry skin still choose retinol as their go-to skincare solution because it simply offers too many amazing benefits to ignore.
Are you looking for a retinol cream that is best for people with normal to dry skin? Do you want a retinol cream that is specifically formulated for men? Finally, do you want your skin to benefit from all that retinol (Vitamin A) can offer? If so, Anthony’s High Performance Vitamin A Facial Treatment is the solution for you.
What separates our retinol facial treatment from other products on the market is the unique blend of active ingredients. Not only does it provide the retinol your skin needs to feel smooth, but it also contains shea butter and squalane (two natural moisturizers) to further reduce fine lines and wrinkles and enhance hydration. With Anthony’s High Performance Vitamin A Facial Treatment, you have an all-in-one moisturizing, anti-aging, and exfoliating face cream that can greatly improve the strength and appearance of your skin.

]]>However, this doesn’t mean you should only break out the hand cream when it gets cold. While dry, cracked, and old-looking hands are more common in the wintertime, you can experience dry skin on your hands during any part of the year. Consequently, it’s important to have a good hand cream for men nearby at all times.
If you’re relatively new to skincare or don’t know how to evaluate the best hand creams for men, we’re here to help. In today’s guide, we’re going to answer important questions like: what does hand cream do? Should men use hand cream every day? What are the benefits of hand cream? Finally, where can you find the absolute best hand cream for men?
Keep reading to learn the answers to these questions and find the top solution for dry, cracked, or aging skin!
Hand cream or hand lotion refers to most kinds of moisturizers or treatments specifically developed for the skin on the hands. Not only is the skin on the hands unique, but it also serves different functions than the skin on other parts of the body. In fact, the skin on the palms of your hands and fingers is even different from the skin on the backs of your hands. As a result, hand cream must be formulated to account for multiple skin types.
How you use your hands also impacts the function and formulation of skin cream. For example, you use your hands for hundreds of different tasks each day — from picking up a pencil to raking the leaves. From an evolutionary standpoint, human skin has evolved to make these tasks easier. More specifically, the skin on your fingers and palms is better able to grip items.
This doesn’t even factor in the effect of hand-washing. On average, adults wash their hands upwards of 5 times per day. Since most people take showers far less often, it stands to reason that the skin of your hands is going to be more affected by washing than the skin on your face or the rest of your body. Regular exposure to water and soaps that lift protective oils make your hands more susceptible to dryness, which, as discussed earlier, only worsens when humidity drops in winter.
All of this is to say that hand cream is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of your hands. When comparing hand cream to body lotions, you’ll often find that hand cream is much stronger, as it needs to penetrate the thick layers of skin on your hands. Additionally, hand cream often has a thicker consistency than body lotion because it contains more natural oils.
As a man, there’s a good chance that your hands take a beating on a regular basis. Whether you engage in manual labor or are frequently exposed to suboptimal weather conditions, you need hand cream to ensure that your hands can look and feel their best. Here are just a few of the top benefits of hand cream for men:
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. In general, you should try to use hand cream every day. How many times you should apply hand cream per day depends on a few different factors. Some things to consider include:
Most men can get by with moisturizing their hands 1 or 2 times per day (often once in the morning and once before bed). That said, you may choose to apply hand cream every time you wash your hands or every few hours throughout the day.
If you’re looking for the best hand cream for men, you can’t go wrong with Anthony’s Signature Hand Cream. Our specialized formula targets dry, chapped, aging skin and will leave your hands feeling silky smooth. Plus, ingredients like coconut oil and wheat protein can help enhance the effects of the underlying moisturizers while making your hands look, feel, and smell amazing. ]]>So, if you’re like a lot of men and you’re unsure how to differentiate between body scrub and body wash, we’re here to help. But you probably have a lot of questions that need to be answered first. For example, what is the purpose of a body scrub? What does it do for the skin? How does it work? And what about body wash? Is it really that different from body scrub? Should you be using both for your own skincare and hygiene? Finally, where can you find high-quality natural body scrub and hair & body wash for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
As the name implies, body scrub is a type of product that you use to quite literally scrub away debris and dead skin cells. In essence, a body scrub is an exfoliant that is specifically designed for your body, as opposed to facial scrubs and exfoliants that are designed for the gentler skin and unique chemistry of the face. Since the skin on your body tends to be thicker than the skin of your face, and men’s skin also tends to be thicker than women’s skin, men’s body scrubs need to be sufficiently strong and capable of sloughing off the top layer of dirt, debris, and dead skin cells.
Many body scrubs have a gritty texture, which helps enhance their ability to scrub off unwanted elements, leaving behind fresher, younger-looking skin. Ingredients can vary from one product to the next, though it’s often best to look for body scrubs with natural components, like sea salt or even sand.
While body scrub is primarily an exfoliant, it does have additional uses. Here’s what regular use of body scrub can do for your skin:
The exact steps you’ll need to follow will depend on the product you choose. For example, there are some “no wash” body scrubs that are meant to be wiped away with a damp cloth, though most are washed away with plenty of water. In any case, if you’re using a body scrub that does need to be washed off (which is the vast majority that you’ll find), it’s easiest to apply it in the shower.
Simply turn on the water and dampen the areas where you intend to apply the body scrub. Add a generous amount to your hands and gently massage the product on your skin using circular motions. Common areas of focus often include the hands, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet but you can apply body scrub on any visible parts of the body.
Once you’ve applied the body scrub to the skin, rinse it away and follow up with a body moisturizer. How often you should use body scrub will depend on your skin type and specific needs, but most men should try to apply body scrub 2 to 3 times per week. And remember that if you want to exfoliate your face, it’s best to choose a product that is specifically designed for facial exfoliation, as a body scrub could be too strong.
Body wash, sometimes known as shower gel, is a liquid cleansing agent that is often used during baths or showers in place of traditional body soap. Body washes can have a variety of formulations, but most include a combination of water, oils, and either natural or synthetic cleansers. All of these ingredients work together to break down dirt and wash away sweat and excess oil.
For some people, a body wash may be preferable to traditional soap. For one thing, body wash is easy to apply over large areas of the body quickly, as it tends to produce lather more quickly and in larger quantities than soap bars. Body washes can also have more nuanced formulations, which may be better suited for sensitive skin. It’s also important to note that many body washes can function as shampoo, potentially cutting down on the cost of additional products.
Here are just a few of the main functions of men’s body wash:
Body wash is exclusively applied in the shower. First, you’ll need to wet your skin. Apply a dollop of body wash to your hand and lather it all over the body. Finally, rinse it away with warm or lukewarm water. If your body wash doubles as a shampoo, you can follow the same steps for your hair. You can generally use body wash one to two times a day in the morning and/or evening as needed.
Choosing the best body wash and body scrub is all about finding formulations that work for your skin. For most people, it is best to look for natural ingredients that still have the strength to provide ample exfoliation and cleansing. Fortunately, you can get the best of both worlds with Anthony’s Blue Sea Kelp Body Scrub and Invigorating Rush Hair + Body Wash! These products are specifically designed with men in mind, ensuring that your skin looks, feels, and smells great throughout the day.

]]>But if you’ve never tried an eye moisturizer before, you probably have some important questions. For instance, how is a moisturizing eye cream different from a facial moisturizer? What does a moisturizing eye cream do? Is it safe to put moisturizing eye cream on your eyelids? Finally, where can you get a high-quality moisturizing eye cream for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
The primary function of eye cream is to reduce the appearance of puffiness and under-eye circles. It can also work to protect the area around the eyes from sun damage. Many eye creams also act as moisturizers, helping to hydrate the skin around the eyes, particularly the area just above the cheeks and just below the eyelids. Moisturizing eye cream may be preferable to traditional face cream when treating this area, as it is less likely to cause irritation or a burning sensation if it comes into contact with your eyes.
Another reason that moisturizing eye cream is distinct from other face moisturizers is that it is specifically formulated for the skin surrounding the eye. The skin of your face already tends to be thinner than the skin on most other parts of your body, but the skin surrounding your eyes is the thinnest of all. This means that your eyelids and the surrounding skin are more sensitive and fragile, making them particularly susceptible to fine lines, dryness, as well as signs of aging and fatigue. Fortunately, moisturizing eye cream is specifically formulated to treat these areas thoroughly, without being too harsh on the skin.
There are a number of ways to put moisturizing eye cream to good use, but it is primarily used to achieve the following results:
Eye moisturizers can be a bit trickier than traditional face moisturizers when it comes to application. You have to be very gentle and take your time, as you don’t want to cause irritation to your eyes or the delicate skin surrounding them. So, if you’re applying eye moisturizer for the first time or you simply need a refresher course, be sure to follow these steps:
Though there are some eye creams that are specifically designed for morning, daytime, or nighttime use, many moisturizing eye creams can be used at any time of day or night. In most cases, it is best to apply eye cream once in the morning and once at night before going to bed.
The eyelids cause a lot of controversy when it comes to eye creams. Some people recommend lightly applying eye cream to the lids of the eyes, while others say to avoid the lids entirely. The truth is that it depends on the type of eye cream you use. Generally, you can carefully apply small amounts to the lower lid without any issues, but you should still be careful that you do not get too close to your actual eye, as this could cause the cream to get into your eye and cause an unpleasant burning sensation. You may be able to apply certain eye creams to the upper lids, but this only increases the chances of cream getting into the eye. So, make sure to consult the manufacturer of your eye cream and, when in doubt, proceed with caution around the eyelids.
If you want to find a moisturizing eye cream that will reduce puffiness, hydrate your skin, and make you look younger, you can’t go wrong with Anthony’s High-Performance Continuous Moisture Eye Cream. The special time-release formula is specifically designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while also making “tired eyes” a thing of the past. Plus, Anthony’s moisturizing eye cream contains all-natural ingredients like jojoba oil, shea butter, squalane, and carrot root.

]]>But if you’ve never used beard wash and conditioner before, we understand if you have your reservations. You may not be eager to add another product to your beard care routine, and you might have questions about how it all works. For example, what is beard wash? How is it any different from face wash or shampoo? Is conditioner necessary for beards? And does beard wash automatically condition your beard? Finally, where can you find a high-quality beard wash that cleans, hydrates, and conditions?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
You might think that beard wash is just some fancy shampoo put in a different bottle, but this could not be further from the truth. If you have a beard, you know that the texture of your beard is very different from the hair on top of your head. Additionally, the skin under your beard has a different texture than the skin of your scalp. Beard wash is specifically designed to work with the rugged skin and follicles of a beard. A good beard wash is gentle, yet effective, ensuring that your beard and skin beneath stay clean, hydrated, and free of itchiness.
While beard wash has a different formulation than traditional shampoo, it does most of the same things — just for your beard instead of the hair on the top of your head. Here are just a few of the primary functions of beard wash:
There are separate beard conditioners that you can use in conjunction with a beard wash. However, a good beard wash will already come with conditioning properties. This means that, while you’re washing your beard, you’re also conditioning it and detangling beard hairs. Not only does this make it easier to comb and style your beard, but it also leaves it with a unique shine that you simply can’t get without conditioning ingredients like coconut oil.
How often you use your beard wash will depend on your personal preference and hygiene needs. That said, it’s important to remember that your beard attracts a lot more bacteria than you may realize. Even if you take showers every day and regularly brush your beard, your beard follicles can still trap dirt and bacteria that may not be removed without a quality beard wash.
Generally speaking, you should try to use beard wash every time that you shower. For example, if you shower once a day, you should use beard wash every time you shower. Similarly, if you shower once in the morning and once in the evening, you should wash your beard during these times. However, if you need to take more frequent showers for one reason or another, you may want to limit beard washing to no more than twice a day. But again, the frequency of use will depend on your personal preference and hygiene needs.
Using beard wash is very similar to using shampoo, but it’s still good to know the best practices before you get started:
It’s also important to consider how beard wash factors into your beard care routine if you regularly trim or even shave your beard. While the steps outlined above would remain the same either way, it’s generally best to start the process out with a Pre-Shave Conditioning Beard Oil if you intend to do any shaving or trimming of your beard.
Are you looking for a beard wash that has the power to clean your beard without damaging your skin with harsh chemicals? Do you prefer a beard wash with natural ingredients that can cleanse and moisturize at the same time? Finally, do you want to get a beard wash that also conditions your beard to leave it looking shiny and soft? If so, Anthony’s Conditioning Beard Wash is the answer!

]]>But if you’ve never exfoliated or you’re unsure what to do with an exfoliating soap bar, you probably have a lot of questions. For example, what is an exfoliating soap bar and how does it differ from a traditional bar of soap? What are the benefits of exfoliating? What is the process you need to follow to rejuvenate your skin with an exfoliating soap bar? Finally, what is the best exfoliating soap bar on the market?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
An exfoliating soap bar wears many hats; it is part cleaner, part gentle scrubber. At first glance, you might look at an exfoliating soap bar and think it is no different from any regular soap you could find at the store. However, when you examine it more closely, you’ll find that exfoliating soap has a grittier texture.
The texture is a key part of what makes an exfoliating soap bar unique and useful. The gritty particles help catch and sweep away dead skin cells that would otherwise be left hanging around. This is something that regular soap simply cannot do on its own. However, it’s important to understand that exfoliating bars can vary in both efficacy and the roughness of their texture. This is because the types of particles present in exfoliating soap can vary from one brand to the next.
Some exfoliating soap bars contain ground-up natural materials, while others use synthetic beads. Either way, you should consider the ingredients in your soap before making a purchase. Generally, it is best to use exfoliating soaps with all-natural components. This way, you don’t have to worry about causing irritation or having negative reactions to synthetic materials.
Exfoliation is like giving your skin a spring cleaning — except you shouldn’t wait months to do it! When you exfoliate, you sweep away the old skin and make way for something better. But rather than just talking about the general function of exfoliation, let’s take a closer look at some of the specific benefits:
Thankfully, you don’t need a PhD to exfoliate, but you should know the do’s and don’ts to avoid causing any unnecessary irritation to your skin. Plus, by following the best practices outlined below, you can rest easy knowing that you’re getting the most out of your exfoliating soap bar:
It’s important to think about your skin and the area you want to exfoliate when deciding how you want to proceed. If you’re exfoliating your face and have sensitive skin, you may choose to lather the soap on your hands first. Alternatively, if you want to exfoliate an area with thicker, rougher skin, you may want to apply the exfoliating soap bar directly to the skin. Either way, make sure not to apply a lot of pressure, as this could end up irritating your skin.
And as far as frequency, you should always listen to your skin. Some people need to exfoliate once or twice each day (often in the morning and evening), while others prefer to exfoliate once or twice per week. It all depends on your skin type and personal skincare preferences.
Are you looking for a natural exfoliating soap that is ideal for your face and body? Then Anthony’s Exfoliating + Cleansing Bar is the answer. Not only does it sweep away dead skin cells and thoroughly clean the skin cells underneath, but it does so without the chemicals present in many other exfoliants. Anthony’s all-natural formula includes refreshing ingredients like coconut, cucumber, and grapefruit essence. This way, you can look AND smell great after every use!

]]>For instance, what does a facial scrub for men actually do? What are the benefits of men’s face scrub? Finally, where can you get a high-quality face scrub at an affordable price?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Face scrubs are aptly named, as they are specifically designed to scrub (or exfoliate) the skin of your face. In other words, a face scrub can be used to remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and generally improve the texture of your skin. Though the exact method varies from one face scrub to the next, exfoliation is often achieved thanks to the gritty particles present in the scrub. When massaged into the skin, these particles facilitate the gentle removal of the top, superficial layer of dead skin cells.
Face scrub manufacturers typically formulate varied face scrubs to cater to different skin types and concerns. Ingredients often include natural exfoliants like sand or even lab-formulated particles. Though your particular needs will always be the most important factor, it is generally advisable to opt for a face scrub that makes use of natural ingredients.
And while it may be easy to assume that face scrubs and exfoliants are a relatively new invention, they’ve actually been around in one form or another for centuries. Ancient Egyptians exfoliated using alabaster particles, while Greeks and Romans had a much more hands-on method. Rather than utilizing tiny particles, Ancient Greeks and Romans covered themselves in olive oil and then scraped the oil off with a metal tool. While this primarily offered a way to get clean without the luxury of soap, it also worked as a strong, full-body exfoliation. Fortunately, we now have facial scrubs so you won’t have to break out the olive oil any time soon!
Many people confuse face scrubs and face wash, but the two serve different roles. As previously mentioned, a face scrub is primarily used for exfoliation. It helps wipe away the old layer of skin so that a newer, fresher layer of skin can take its place.
Alternatively, a face wash does exactly that — it washes your face! It works as a cleanser that can wash away daily grime, dirt, and even excess oils. What makes these two products confusing is that there is a fair amount of crossover in what they do. For example, both face scrub and face wash cleanse the face. However, a face scrub actually takes things a step further.
With a face scrub, you get a mild cleanser that also exfoliates. For this reason, many men choose to use a combination of face scrubs and washes. The face scrub does a little bit of cleansing and a lot of exfoliating, while a face wash does a lot of cleansing and just a little bit of exfoliating. ]]>So, what does shaving cream do? Is it possible to shave without shaving cream? What are the steps to follow when using shaving cream? Finally, where can you find the best shaving cream for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Shaving cream fulfills a number of important functions before and during the shaving process. Here are just a few of the primary benefits of using shaving cream:
Yes, you can shave without shaving cream, but depending on how you do it, the quality of the results may vary. If you intend on using a standard razor, shaving without cream could increase the risk of cuts and razor burns. It can also make it more difficult to know exactly which parts of your face still require shaving. Without cream, you’re at greater risk of walking out the door with a small patch of fuzz on your face!
Whether or not you use shaving cream, shaving with a standard razor is traditionally known as “wet shaving.” This is generally because you will use shaving cream and/or water to reduce irritation and ensure a cleaner cut. Alternatively, you may choose to use an electric razor, which does not require shaving cream or water. Thus, this method is known as “dry shaving.” Dry shaving is typically best if you’re short on time or you want to be able to shave in any direction without causing skin irritation. However, it’s important to note that dry shaving typically does not provide as close of a cut as wet shaving, and you’re still at a slightly greater risk of experiencing some kind of skin irritation.
Using shaving cream is pretty straightforward, but if you’re just starting out or unsure if you’re doing things correctly, it’s always best to double-check. Here are a few steps you can follow to get the most out of your shaving cream:
While you have the freedom to cleanse after shaving, we always recommend doing it beforehand. Why? Because a clean face almost always results in a closer, more comfortable shave. The cleansing process helps remove dead skin, soften the hairs, and open the pores. All of these results can reduce the risk of ingrown hairs and any other kind of irritation. And while bacterial infection is uncommon, it’s still an important factor to consider. If you cleanse your face first, a nick or scratch caused by shaving is far less likely to become infected later on.
We’ve already covered the basics of shaving in the previous section, but it’s also good to be aware of the steps you can take to prep your face for a good shave. Though every man’s pre-shave routine will look a little different, here are a few good steps and products to consider:
There’s a little less uniformity in the post-shave routine, as it will largely depend on the unique needs of your skin. That said, it is often best to pat your skin dry after you shave and apply a good facial moisturizer or aftershave balm. Alternatively, if you want to prevent or treat ingrown hairs, you should consider Anthony’s Ingrown Hair Treatment.
A truly great shaving cream must do three things. It must cleanse the area, lubricate the face, and relax the skin. Fortunately, Anthony’s Shave Cream does all three. Thanks to its naturally antiseptic ingredients (eucalyptus and rosemary extract), Anthony’s Shave Cream keeps your shave hygienic and prevents infections, even if you accidentally nick yourself. Plus, the Squalene gives Anthony’s Shave Cream an edge over alternatives, providing enhanced lubrication for the cleanest shave possible. Finally, Anthony’s unique blend of hops provides a cooling and refreshing sensation before, during, and after you shave.
And that’s not all. Anthony’s Shave Cream also provides maximum hydration so that your skin will feel smooth and your hair follicles will become larger and easier to cut. Once you’re done shaving, Anthony’s proprietary shaving cream will leave behind a pleasant and alluring fragrance that you can enjoy for the rest of your day. In short, if you’re looking for the best possible shaving cream for men, you can’t go wrong with Anthony’s Shave Cream!

First and foremost, what is natural deodorant? How does men’s natural deodorant differ from traditional deodorant? How can you tell if deodorant is really natural? What are the benefits of using a natural deodorant? Finally, where can you find a high-quality aluminum and alcohol-free deodorant for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
Many products claim to be “all-natural,” but it’s not always easy for consumers to figure out what that really means. When it comes to deodorants, the vast majority of brands you can find at the store are not natural. Why? Because they are chock full of synthetic elements and chemicals. Many men have begun looking for alternatives, particularly as a growing mountain of research shows that synthetic deodorant can have lasting consequences for your health.
Fortunately, there is an alternative. As the name implies, natural deodorant is a form of deodorant that only uses naturally derived ingredients. It still works to neutralize body odor and leave you feeling fresh, albeit without all the harmful chemicals. Traditional deodorants (sometimes known as antiperspirants) often contain aluminum compounds that work to block sweat ducts. Though an effective way to prevent sweating, this method doesn’t always reduce odor and, more importantly, it can actually have a negative effect on your body’s natural processes.
Alternatively, natural deodorant focuses on counteracting the bacteria responsible for body odor. This way, your body can continue to go through its natural processes unhindered, but you don’t have to smell the results! It’s important to note that, while you may notice a slight increase in perspiration when transitioning from traditional deodorant to natural deodorant, you will see a decrease in sweat over time.
There are various natural deodorants out there with varying qualities and ingredients. However, many of these deodorants have the following characteristics and components:
Of course, there are significant variations between individual products. For instance, Anthony produces natural men’s deodorant that does not include aluminum or alcohol. Additionally, Anthony’s natural deodorant does not include GMOs, DEA, triclosan, or gluten. However, the ingredient list you find on the natural deodorant of your choice could vary greatly. The key to determining if a deodorant is truly natural is checking out its ingredient list and ensuring that all of the ingredients are naturally derived.
Since natural deodorants contain various odor and sweat-fighting ingredients, they actually work in several unique ways. Here are some of the effects of natural deodorant, along with their underlying mechanisms:
Many traditional deodorants let aluminum and alcohol do the heavy lifting, even if these ingredients cause a lot of unnecessary harm and discomfort. If you’re currently on the fence about switching to a natural deodorant that is aluminum and alcohol-free, here are a few things to consider:
When it comes to natural deodorants, Anthony’s Alcohol-Free Deodorant is the top choice for men. Not only does it effectively combat body odor using natural ingredients, but it also won’t leave residue on your clothes. The clinically proven results show that Anthony’s Alcohol-Free Deodorant is gentle on the skin and far less likely to cause irritation or allergies. This means you can enjoy the benefits of clean, all-natural ingredients without sacrificing the efficacy of your deodorant. If you’re currently in the market for a quality natural deodorant for men, consider trying out Anthony’s Alcohol-Free Deodorant!

]]>A facial cleanser is a skincare product designed and formulated to remove dirt, oil, and any other impurities present on the skin of the face. While the primary goal is cleansing (as the name implies), many facial cleansers can also address specific concerns or conditions like acne, dryness, or sensitivity. It is often the first step, and perhaps the most important step in men’s skincare routine. This is partially because facial cleansers can help prepare the skin to absorb subsequent products like serums and moisturizers.
If you’ve spent any time shopping around for skincare products, or even talking with friends and acquaintances about skincare routines, you probably know that “facial cleanser” and “face wash” are often used interchangeably. However, it’s important to note the differences between these two products. Though there is substantial crossover between cleansers and face wash, there are some subtle nuances that differentiate one from the other.
Facial cleansers typically have the following characteristics:
Alternatively, face wash will generally have some or all of the following characteristics:
As you can see, face cleansers and face wash are very similar, but they do have some unique qualities. Ultimately, the differences often come down to the individual products you choose, as there is a fair amount of variation from one brand or manufacturer to the next.
Historically, skincare has often been framed as a predominantly female concern. These days, more and more men are coming to realize that a proper skincare routine has plenty of benefits. Since face cleansers often form the foundation of a good skincare routine, it’s also important to look at the specific benefits of using a face cleanser for men. Here are just a few of the benefits to consider:
As previously mentioned, different types of facial cleansers may have different textures and consistencies. These differences can also affect how you use them. That said, you can generally refer to the following steps to properly use a facial cleanser:
There’s no hard rule about how often you should cleanse your face. The truth is that it will vary from one person to the next. For example, someone who works outdoors and frequently gets dirt or grime on their face may need to cleanse their face more than others. The same is true for people who have heavy oil buildup or exercise and sweat heavily every day. However, the frequency of face cleansing can also depend on your natural skin type.
For most men, it is sufficient to cleanse the face once in the morning and once at night. This is true for men with “normal” skin (not overly dry or oily), as well as men with oily skin. However, men with overly dry skin may not want to cleanse their faces as frequently. This is because facial cleansers can remove oils, which could exacerbate dryness in certain cases. Nonetheless, facial cleansing is still important to do regularly, and any dryness can often be counteracted with proper moisturization.
Are you looking for a quality facial cleanser that works with every skin type? If so, you can’t go wrong with Anthony’s Algae Facial Cleanser. This unique formula features algae, aloe vera, and lavender, ensuring that your skin will be left feeling clean, smooth, and refreshed. ]]>But if you’ve never used shower wipes before, you’ve probably got a few questions. For instance, who uses shower wipes? What are they used for? Finally, where can you find high-quality shower wipes for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, so let’s get started!
This is a very good question, as the name can be a little confusing. Are shower wipes…wipes you use in the shower? Thankfully, no! Not only would that be pretty unhelpful, but it just doesn’t seem like a practical solution to anything. Instead, shower wipes (sometimes known as “shower sheets”) are body wipes for adults. As the name implies, they are meant for when you can’t shower. In other words, they are very handy rinse-free body wipes that can help you wipe away sweat and dirt in between showers.
If you’re like most people, you’ve been in a situation where you may not have felt as “fresh” as you wanted to, but didn’t have the time or ability to take a shower. This is where showerless body wipes come in. Rather than continuing to feel uncomfortable in your own skin, you can just get to the nearest bathroom, give yourself a quick wipe to address the most pertinent areas, and you’re good to go!
The short answer is yes — cleansing wipes do work. However, there is a big difference between “shower wipes work” and “shower wipes can replace traditional hygiene practices.” In case it wasn’t already obvious, you should NOT try to replace showers with shower wipes! In order to be clean and hygienic, you need to take regular showers. Shower wipes are simply a way to get rid of sweat, body odor, and small amounts of dirt and grime quickly. In fact, shower wipes make an excellent complement to regular hygiene practices, but they should never be a full-time replacement!
Shower wipes are super popular because they help you avoid feeling embarrassed about your appearance or, even worse, your scent. There are tons of different situations where shower wipes can be a lifesaver. In the sections below, we’re going to cover some of the most common situations that call for shower wipes:
Going to the gym is great — until you walk out the door and realize that you don’t look, feel, or smell very fresh. Shower wipes can be useful for anyone who works out regularly (at the gym or at home). Shower wipes are a particularly good solution for athletes, runners, cyclists, and anyone else who lives an active lifestyle but doesn’t always have time for a full shower!
The weird thing about the human body is that it can produce just as much sweat and odor when sitting still as it can when moving around. If you’ve ever spent time traveling, you know that sitting in a car or plane for hours on end can leave you feeling less than fresh. Keeping a packet of shower wipes nearby can allow you to freshen up before the plane lands or excuse yourself to the bathroom after a long car ride to eliminate any odor.
And shower wipes aren’t just good when you’re in transit. Once you arrive at a new destination, you may not know exactly how or when you’ll get to take your next shower. Rather than walking around Paris or Tokyo smelling like an onion, just pop out your stash of shower wipes. Problem solved!
Camping and body odor often go hand in hand. If you’re hiking or backpacking, you’ll quickly notice that your body is producing a lot of sweat. Even if you’re just chilling at base camp, you probably won’t have easy access to shower facilities. Fortunately, shower wipes can make a great solution until you can get back to the civilized world and enjoy a hot shower.
It’s not all about eliminating body odor, either. If you’re hiking, you’re probably producing a lot of sweat around your inner thighs and groin. After a while, this will probably cause some pretty painful chaffing and heat rash. And though a shower wipe won’t be able to completely solve this problem once it’s started, you can greatly reduce the risk of experiencing these kinds of issues by taking breaks to use your shower wipes.
Even after relatively minor surgery, you’ll often have to wear surgical bandages and dressings that cannot get wet. This can make showering a challenge. It’s even worse if you’re bedridden and don’t have the ability to take a shower. After a few days, you’ll start to notice that your armpits, groin, and many other parts of your body don’t feel very clean. Shower wipes make it easier to maintain a clean and fresh feeling, even when you’re recovering from surgery.
As you may know, the shower can be a dangerous place for the elderly and anyone else with mobility issues. Even with a shower chair and rails to hold onto, it can be pretty easy to slip and fall. As a result, many seniors try to cut down on showers as much as possible. Shower wipes allow seniors to feel fresh and clean without needing to take full showers all the time.
Shower wipes are pretty straightforward, but we’re still going to cover the basics:
Just got back from the gym but don’t have time to shower before seeing people? Need a quick way to get rid of sweat and body odor during a camping trip? Looking for a handy method to feel fresh and clean in the middle of the day? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then Anthony’s Shower Sheets are the solution for you! These wipes are alcohol-free and tested by dermatologists to ensure that you get the “freshen up” you need, without causing unnecessary irritation to your skin.

Does it burn when you put it on? Finally, where can you find a high-quality glycolic facial cleanser for men?
In today’s guide, we will answer all of these questions and more, but first, let’s examine what a glycolic acid cleanser really is and how it works:
Glycolic acid is the common name for alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), a water-soluble compound that comes from sugar cane. This kind of acid has natural exfoliating properties, which makes it a great addition to facial cleanser products. Essentially, a glycolic acid cleanser can remove dirt or oil from your face while also exfoliating the top layer of skin, promoting cell turnover, and improving the overall texture and appearance of your face.
There are two facets to glycolic cleansing that need to be considered when looking at the benefits. While glycolic acid and facial cleansers can be combined for greater effect, the two components have slightly different uses and properties. First, let’s take a look at the benefits of using a facial cleanser daily:
Now that we’ve looked at the benefits of facial cleansers, let’s look a bit closer at the specific benefits of glycolic acid:
As you can see, there are a ton of benefits of facial cleansers and glycolic acid. So, when you combine them together, you really get a super-charged skincare product!
Before you start using a glycolic acid facial cleanser, you should know exactly what’s in the product. While the vast majority of glycolic acid products will have safe concentrations of acid (less than 5%), there are products out there with concentrations as high as 70%. These are only recommended to be used by dermatologists and other healthcare professionals. If you try to use a high concentration on your own, you could end up in pain with lasting damage to your skin. So, while most glycolic facial cleansers will have a safe concentration of glycolic acid, it’s always a good idea to read the packaging before you start.
Once you’re ready to use a glycolic facial cleanser, you just need to follow these simple steps:
As you can see, applying a glycolic acid cleanser to the face is extremely easy. However, you should remember not to leave glycolic acid on your face for too long. Though low concentrations are generally safe to leave on for a few minutes at a time, higher concentrations can cause burning, redness, and irritation if left on the skin for even a short time. Again, always make sure to read the packaging before you apply!
Are you looking for a great glycolic facial cleanser that will help provide you with softer, healthier skin? Then look no further than the Glycolic Facial Cleanser by Anthony!
